MENTAL LANDSCAPES

Pre Corona, I’ve always felt very capable of handling myself in stressful situations. Post outbreak, I am facing a new challenge; an emotional one. Like much of population, my time of self isolation has forced me to re evaluate many of my priorities and perspectives.

The psychological stress of facing the unknown has caused even the most level headed humans to react without social regard. The panic is not unwarranted, loss of life, economic ruin and lack of even the most basic household goods will test a rational person’s goodwill and integrity.

CLEAR DAY by Danish born artist Iben Vestergaard explores the emotional side of human identity, how we relate to ourselves and nature. Now based in Santa Barabra, California, Iben incorporates elements of Scandinavian design throughout her work. CLEAR DAY is apart of a larger series called RIDDLES. Iben describes this series as a collection of mental landscapes and fragile snapshot portraits, open for the viewer to complete.

My selection today was based on my own mindful reflection. Do I have the ability to objectively self evaluate and make necessary the adjustments for both survival and social harmony?
