MOVING FORWARD

Today my art project ART IN THE TIME OF CORONA™ phase one, begins. I selected 12 artists and their respective works I felt were relevant to this project. Many of works were already created before the epidemic began. However, I believe the concepts were translatable and representative of my mission with this online exhibit.

CELL by Los Angeles based artist Liang Zhang seemed like an appropriate piece to begin this blog with. This small sculpture is about the human life cycle, which felt timely. Though the image is simple, the ceramic sculpture itself is a representation of how complex the process itself. The process of creating ceramic works and the progression of the human life cycle are comparative.

I’m going to keep this this blog post brief for the moment, but I will be posting regularly (if not daily) as this exhibition progresses to talk about works I’ve selected and project updates.

I would also like to hear from artists and viewers as this project unfolds. I’m happy to answer questions or engage in positive conversations about art. Let’s talk about the exhibition, your own artistic endeavors and what happening in your part of of world during this time. Thank you for your participation!
