TRAMAR
TRAMAR
TRAMAR was our first documentary film completed and released in 2017. Featuring Textile and installation artist Dominga Opazo. Dominga is a Chilean born artist whose work mainly focuses environmentally friendly materials and projects. We documented her artist process and filmed her outdoor installation project using various untreated wools from her home country. Director Summary
Incorporating a selection of yarns derived from her native country of Chile, Dominga's large-scale outdoor installation is distinctive and influential. Finding inspiration in Chiloe art, Dominga began to experiment with weaving in art practice. Initially creating a series of prints with configurations inspired by patterns made by the Selkma, these works are then weaved with another print. The rigorous labor required and the intimacy with organic materials is captivating.

PRODUCTION
We filmed in locations throughout the central coast, where Dominga lives and primarily works. We captured her in her studio, a local printing association and the beach which she frequents and was ultimately the inspiration for her project.
Locations: Carpinteria and Ventura, California
Produced and Directed by Yessíca Torres de Marín
Filmed and Edited by Cameron Hurdus https://www.cameronhurdus.com

PREMIER
We held our own premier in Downtown Ventura at a performing arts center to a sold out audience. Though the venue was small, it felt like quite an accomplishment to see our hard work be appreciated by the local community. We also held a special Q &A after.
ARTIST
Dominga currently resides in Ventura, emigrating from Chile a decade ago. Her mixed media work consists mostly of prints and textiles, as well as wood burning, paintings and drawings. Dominga’s greatest inspiration, and often the subject of her art, is the natural world seen through the lens of her childhood. Drawing inspiration from her native Chile and incorporating elements from her new serein coastal home, Dominga is a fine artist and innovator, graduating from UC Berkley in 2016 with a B.A. in Fine Art. Domingo works and creates from her home studio in Ventura and is currently on roster with the Dab Art Co.
