The basic nature of nature is saved on 35mm film in Rob’s archives with black-and-white photography. The basic primary element silver creates photo-graphic image on negatives and prints having long-lasting archival properties. The commonly used 35 mm camera captured land-scapes using only the available light of the sun. The basics of composition is found in the Golden Number. Preserving nature on film is Rob’s core value and always the preferred way to express the pureness of fine art. The decade of 1970 were the years of Rob’s travels in the California Mojave desert and Mexico’s primitive Baja peninsula. The dark room at Orange Coast College became a second home with time devoted to developing the basic skills needed for images on film and prints. Color photos were also exposed on Kodachrome slide film starting in 1980.
Rob is a California native and prolific photographer. His core values of preserving the pure landscape of nature on 35mm film was done traveling through the wilderness areas of California and Baja California, Mexico during the 1960’s and 70’s. Also a passionate SCUBA diver, Rob used a super 8mm to make his first underwater movies. During the 70’s he was both a photography teacher and newspaper contributor in Southern California.
