The Dab Art Co. is please to present SIBARITA, a solo exhibition of works by Nelson Morales. Morales is also a featured artist in the ImPosible group exhibition. Curated by Micheal Swank, ImPosible is currently on display at our Mexico City location Proyectos Galería (PRPG.MX).

Morales explores the stories of the Muxes community of Oaxaca, Mexico. Muxes are considered a third gender in the Oaxaca, not male or female, but only Muxe. Nelson explores his own third gender identity as a member of the community while evoking the sensuality, courage, and individuality of gender expression. Nelson shares a series of photo interventions adding layers of colors, textures, and significance to the dialogue within himself and his subject matter.

Nelson Morales obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences from José Vasconcelos University of Oaxaca in 2008 and has dedicated himself to his photographic explorations since. He is in collections, has exhibited, and continues to show his work in countries such as Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Canada, Portugal, Malaysia, India, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, United States, and Mexico. Morales has won numerous awards and recognitions including and not limited to Finalist in The Rencontres d'Arles Book awards contest, France (2019). First place in the PRIDE PHOTO AWARD international competition in the Netherlands (2019). Recently it is part of the National system of creators of FONCA. In 2020 he won the ""Center Stage Family"" contest in Moscow Russia.

This featured solo exhibition was originally part of the group exhibition Fotographia 2021. A juried photo show at our Mexico City location Proyectos Galería (PRPG.MX). Morales’ SIBARITA wa also featured in the Zona Maco International Art Fair.
