Dama Gallery is pleased to present the 2023 Incubator Exhibition at our satellite space Art Gallery Studios in Colonia Juárez, Mexico City.

This ongoing exhibition is comprised of the participating artists in the INCUBATOR program at our gallery and residency in Mexico City. Each season, a new group of artists begin their residencies (virtual and on location); fittingly called the INCUBATOR. As the residency concludes, a select few are chosen for exhibition showcasing the works completed during their time in the INCUBATOR.

The Artists and artwork featured in the INCUBATOR exhibit will be rotated in and out of the residency gallery space at Art Gallery Studios with each season. All featured artwork will be viewable online for the duration of the calendar year.

Working in the studio can be an isolating experience for many artists. We lose our way in the joy of creation and sometimes don’t meet our goals of exhibiting and selling our work. After years of working in my own studio, I missed the constructive interactions of a peer group focused on similar goals and excited about their discoveries in the studio. The INCUBATOR came out of the desire to connect and create opportunities for artists and we’ve worked with over 300 artists in the past few years.

This incubator is a bi-weekly studio visit in which the artists show up to present their progress, receive feedback from peers, receive feedback from the curators, and utilize the collective to help solve technical or conceptual issues. Artists join together for social connections with our ‘Kiki’ schedule of events to develop their understanding of different practices in art and gain exposure to the culture of art surrounding the gallery.
