My mixed media work consists mostly of prints mixed with different mediums, as well as wood burning, paintings and drawings. My greatest inspiration, and often the subject of my art, is the natural world seen through the lens of my childhood. From my earliest memory I have seen the world around me as organic forms. Each tree is completely different from another and I’m drawn to the patterns, shapes and colors that I see. I first translate what I see through line and then follow the pattern to create the bigger picture. I use my memory as well as inspirational photos that I have taken in order to bring my painting and prints to life.

I have been approaching my artwork by experimenting with textiles. I became interested in Chiloe art a few years ago, which inspired me to explore weaving in art practice. I am interested in the intensive work that weaving requires and the close interaction with material. I am also interested in the connections that I have with the culture of thread making that is very alive and historical in Chile. I created a series of prints with patterns that are inspired from patterns made by the Selk'nam. I have integrated these patterns into the weavings. I also bought all the yarn that I have  from places dear to me in the south of Chile, this helps me feel more connected to the people and places that I miss while in the studio.
