The exhibition is set to coincide with the Summer 2023 issue of The Bureau of Queer Art magazine, featuring the works of talented artists from diverse backgrounds.

The Bureau of Queer Art magazine is a trailblazing publication, offering a unique platform for artists to delve into the complexities of their identities and experiences. As we embrace the concept of "Queer" as not merely defined by one's sexual orientation, but as an all-encompassing exploration of the self in relation to the world, the magazine continues to foster a space for inventiveness, creation, and dialogue.

The call for artists has been made, and we eagerly selected a group of visionary artists and their works for both the magazine and the Summer 2023 group exhibition. Artists were encouraged to express their individual journeys, challenging norms, and perspectives in a culture that tends to homogenize artistic expression. We believe in the power of art to amplify voices, push boundaries, and create a thriving space for all.

Quoting the profound words of Bell Hooks, "Queer is not just about who you're having sex with (that can be a dimension of it); but queer is about the self that is at odds with everything around it and that has to invent and create and find a place to speak and to thrive and to live." We aim to embody this spirit in both the magazine and the exhibition, offering a safe and inspiring space for artists to shine brightly.
