EXHIBITION
Dabster Arts Inc. presents an online exclusive solo exhibition, "Bodhisattva" by Gautham Archarya. “Bodhisattva” is a captivating exploration of the future of human worship through South Asian iconography.
Drawing inspiration from traditional South Asian deities, Gautham Archarya's Bodhisattva series embarks on an artistic odyssey that challenges conventional boundaries. Through meticulous hand-drawn sketches, subsequent digital modifications, and iterative cycles of creation, Archarya blurs the lines between the physical and the digital. This innovative process serves as a metaphor for the evolving connection between humanity, nature, and technology. It invites contemplation on cultural evolution, tradition, and progress, urging us to reflect on the paths that intertwine our past, present, and potential futures. Gautham Acharya, hailing from Seattle, WA, infuses his work with the rich tapestry of his immigrant background, sparking a profound exploration of culture, religion, and worship. Bodhisattva beckons us to delve into the enigmatic world of cultural transmission and religious mutation, offering profound insights into how our present culture links us to our roots and propels us toward a future illuminated by the Information Age.
Tune in the podcast, ‘The Bureau of Queer Art’, hosted by Micheal Swank; where Gautham shares the inspiration behind his work. Selections from “Bodhisattva” will be on display at Art Gallery Studios in Mexico City as a part of the current Bureau of Queer Art Gallery exhibit.
Private viewing rooms, artwork details and and collector acquisitions are available on ARTSY.
